Metso PTI was a finalist in the Minerals and Energy category of The Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards announced in Brisbane on 24th October 2013. The Minerals and Energy Award is presented for outstanding international success in the production or primary processing of extractive and value-added minerals or energy products, technology, equipment and services to the minerals and energy industries.
The Metso PTI team provides specialised consulting services, research and products to improve the productivity and sustainability of mining operations around the world. The headquarters and main technical base of the group is located in Brisbane at the Queensland Centre for Advanced Technologies (QCAT) technical precinct, with additional offices located globally to gain international business, ensure quick response to customer queries and provide cultural awareness. The strong link between consulting projects, research and products provides a competitive advantage, as both research and the development of products is focused to address issues identified in the consulting projects, and ensures the relevance to customers and the success of the outcomes. An example is PTI’s SmartTag™ system, which was developed to meet a specific need in consulting projects. SmartTag™ systems have been sold around the world, and continue to provide further competitive advantages in the execution and marketing of PTI’s consulting projects.
