Almost 450 delegates from several countries participated in this conference, held every 2 years in Balkan countries. BMPC 2013 was organized jointly by University of Mining and Geology “St. Ivan Rilski” and Municipality of Sozopol.

The Congress was supported generously by the mining and minerals industry. Metso was the major sponsor for this.  The General sponsors were Metso Minerals (Bulgaria), Dundee Precious Metals Inc., Kaolin Bulgaria, Geostroy AD, Gorubso Madan AD, Gorubso Zlatograd AD,. The Gold sponsors were Outotec, Gorubso Kardjalı JSC and Mintech Ltd. The Silver sponsors included Assarel Medet JSC, Litex Motors, Vatia Holding AD and Kolobar Holding.

The theme of the Congress was “The Wave of Changes in Processing and Recycling”, and the following scientific program included all aspects of mineral processing industry, research and development, environment and recycling organized in four parallel sessions,  as well as plenary lectures and company presentations.
