2017 - 2020 CEEC Medal : Top papers

CEEC is pleased to share links to abstracts and papers for the 2017-2020 CEEC Medal winning papers, high commendations and a number of inspiring nominated papers. These papers showcase a range of inspiring innovations, case studies, operational improvements, technology and research advances for important consideration by the global mining industry.

2020 CEEC Medal winners:

Technical Research category winner: Dr Grant Ballantyne for his paper titled “Quantifying the Additional Energy Consumed by Ancillary Equipment and Embodied in Grinding Media in Comminution Circuits”. This was also presented at the 7th SAG Conference in Vancouver. Abstract/paper details link here

Operations category winner: Peter Lind and Kevin Murray of Newmont and Alan Boylston and Isaias Arce of Metso Outotec, for their paper titled “Reducing Energy and Water Consumption through Alternative Comminution Circuits”. Operations category: Sam Palaniandy, Matthew Spagnolo, Rinto Napitupulu Halomoan, Huiwen Zhou and Hidemasa Ishikawa (a collaboration between Karara Mining Limited and Nippon Eirich) for their presentation “Fine grinding circuit process improvement at the Karara Mine concentrator”.
