The SME will launch its new Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Handbook at its annual conference in Denver this month.
SME says this landmark publication distils the body of knowledge that characterises mineral processing and extractive metallurgy as disciplinary fields.
“It will inspire and inform current and future generations of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy professionals,” it says.
The handbook covers almost every aspect of mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, addressing traditional industry topics and new technologies and important cultural and social issues.
More than 192 internationally recognised experts have contributed to the handbook’s 128 chapters and 2312 pages, including:
- Mineral characterisation and analysis
- Management and reporting
- Classification and washing
- Transport and storage
- Physical separation
- Solid and liquid separation
- Processing of selected metals, minerals and materials.
