The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM)’s Sustainable Development in the Minerals Industry (SDIMI) 2022 hybrid conference will be held online and in Windhoek, Namibia from 15th-20th September 2022.
The main objective of this series of conferences is to assist the global minerals industries in their transition to sustainable development. This year’s theme is ‘Making Economies Great through Sustainable Mineral Development’.
The conference will feature presentations from experts and practitioners on advances in social, economic, and environmental sustainability, and related technical issues relevant to the Namibian and African mining sector and other areas around the world.
The conference topics include: Mining in Africa and its unique challenges; Critical and strategic minerals; Sustainability issues; and Technical issues.
