Join MEI and experts in Africa in June: Biohydromet ’18 and Sustainable Minerals ’18 conferences, plus diary dates for 2 more conferences

Where will the next processing advances and high-tech metals of the future come from? How can industry reduce its footprint? Leading developments are emerging through advanced research as well as industry applications, and CEEC is pleased to highlight MEI’s conferences that bring experts together to present, discuss and address those challenges.

MEI's upcoming conferences include: Biohydromet ’18 and Sustainable Minerals ’18 in June, and Process Mineralogy ’18 and MEI's new event – Developments in the Processing of the ‘High-Tech’ Metals. We encourage you to add these to your diary, and consider presenting and attending.

These important conferences help the mining community not only share emerging research, but also share practical advances and case studies, and tap into the latest thinking on where future step-changes for miners could come from  – with a strong focus on mineral processing options and applications.

DEVELOPMENTS IN THE PROCESSING OF THE ‘HIGH-TECH’ METALS

The first international conference on Developments in the Processing of the ‘Hi-Tech’ Metals (Hi-Tech Metals '18) is organised by MEI.

‘High-tech’ rare earth metals, such as gallium, germanium, indium and neodymium, are essential for modern living. The importance of these metals is the impetus for MEI’s latest conference – Developments in the Processing of the Hi-Tech Metals. The conference will explore the mineral processing and extractive metallurgy of these metals from primary and secondary resources, and the environmental problems that are often associated with their extraction.

In a keynote lecture co-authored by Max Frenzel and Markus Reuter, Prof Jens Gutmer will examine the number of expressions used to describe this group of commodities that are considered essential ingredients for technology development and economic prosperity.

Not only is Hi-Tech Metals '18 shaping up to be a great conference, it is certified for Continuing Professional Development, so register your interest with This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. now!
