Global from Chile – Call for abstracts for Copper 2022 extended to September

The call for abstracts for the Copper 2022 conference has been extended to September 30th, 2021. The conference will take place in Santiago, Chile from November 13-17, 2022.

The technical committee is calling for the submission of abstracts for papers on any of the conference’s technical, scientific or economic themes for one of the following symposia:

  • Economics, Markets and Applications
  • Mineral Processing
  • Pyrometallurgy
  • Hydrometallurgy
  • Electrometallurgy
  • Sustainability
  • Process Optimization Through Innovation, Technology, Automation and Design
  • Waste Management and Circular Economy
  • Geometallurgy

Authors can submit their abstracts here. Abstracts should be submitted in Word format, in English, using the uploading platform by September 30th. Other important dates for authors include the deadline for submission of papers in March 2022 and delivery of PowerPoint presentations in September 2022.

The conference organizers said that engineers, scientists, and copper fabricators and users from the entire world will meet at this conference, exchanging ideas, scientific innovation, and development. Along with the technical papers and plenary sessions, some short courses and industrial tours are also being planned as part of the program.

The Copper 2022 conference will be hosted by the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas de Chile and is being organized by the following professional associations: Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas de Chile (IIMCH); The Metallurgy and Materials Society of CIM (METSOC); the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME); The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) of AIME; Gesellschaft der Metallurgen und Bergleute eV (GDMB); The Mining and Materials Processing Institute of Japan (MMIJ); Nonferrous Metals Society of China (NFSoc); and The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM).
