Events: 13-16 June in UK - MEI Physical Separation/Computational Modelling Conferences

CEEC is pleased to share with readers some important upcoming conferences. Focusing on latest developments in mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, these provide forums to learn, share and network to discuss emerging technologies, solutions, advances and economic benefits.

Computational Modelling ’17 – 13 to 14 June 2017

  • Location: Cornwall UK at St Michaels Hotel, Falmouth
  • Program here
  • Register here
  • Participants will include Prof Stephen Neethling of Imperial College UK (keynote speaker), on Modelling multi-phase minerals processing systems
  • Focus: MEI notes this conference showcases emerging solutions from rapid increases in computer power which now enable highly sophisticated and realistic simulations of scientific and engineering processes.
  • Topics include comminution modelling, particle breakage, vertical stirred mills and media, grinding media dynamics, modelling of vibrating screens, WHIMS simulation, leaching simulation, pyrometallurical process modelling, and more.
  • Attendees: Attracts users and developers of computational modelling in minerals processing, from model development and validation through to application.

Physical Separation ‘17” – 15 to 16 June 2017

  • Location: Cornwall UK, at the same venue as Computational Modelling ‘17
  • Participants will include:

    • CEEC’s Director Tim Napier-Munn (keynote speaker) – will present “The Dense Medium Cyclone – past, present and future” detailing the history of the dense medium cyclone process, current status in mineral and coal processing, and emerging evolution of the technologies.
    • Sandy Gray from Gekko Systems (keynote speaker) – will discuss improved options to enhance physical separation performance: options available for feed preparation ahead of separation, to drive lower cost and improved performance opportunities
    • CRC Ore – will discuss advances including new generation comminution devices and gangue rejection options. CRC Ore will showcase options to create more precise and steeper produce size distributions to produce feeds for gravity concentration and reduce coarse and fine flotation losses, and discuss advances in low cost gangue rejection and pre-concentration.
    • Steinert – will present economic impact and viability of upgrading ores by pre-concentration using ore sorting.
    • and many more excellent presentations on ore sorting, pre-concentration, gangue rejection, recovery, classification, screening, automation, efficiency, and more.
