CEEC International Welcomes New Advocates Driving Eco-Efficient Mining Solutions

CEEC International is delighted to announce the appointment of several new Advocates, further strengthening our global network of leaders who are committed to advancing eco-efficient minerals and metals production.

Andrew Vietti (South Africa)
Founder of Vietti Slurrytec, Andrew brings 30 years of extensive expertise in slurry dewatering technology, tailings and treatment of clay materials. His practical experience and passion for innovation will help CEEC expand conversations around tailings, water, and energy challenges in mining.

Dr. Caroline Woywadt (Germany)
Caroline, Managing Director of Gebr. Pfeiffer Mining and Director of Process Technology at Gebr. Pfeiffer SE, has nearly three decades of experience in grinding and comminution. With a PhD from RWTH Aachen, she has pioneered applications of vertical roller mills across industries and now focuses on advancing mining applications.
Caroline shared: “Independent technology transfer with the aim of reducing energy consumption, water consumption, and other impacts associated with mining is very important and exciting. It is an honour for me to actively contribute to eco-efficient practices in the mineral industry in this independent organization.”

Maurizio Finucci (South Africa)
With over 30 years of global experience in mining, metals processing, and sustainability, Maurizio has held leading sustainability roles with Hatch and Anglo American and is now an independent Sustainability Consultant.
He noted: “Being an Advocate for CEEC allows me to promote and contribute to an organization that is adding value and improving sustainability performance of the mining industry.”

CEEC is also excited to welcome back familiar faces: Mike Daniel, a founding Director of CEEC (2011–2013), and Janine Herzig, former Executive President and Director. Both bring invaluable experience, with Mike emphasising the importance of ensuring accurate, fit-for-purpose comminution circuit design and independent dialogue on energy, water, and ESG issues. Janine has been an Advocate for CEEC since 2012, taking on the new role of Executive President and Director in the first half of 2022 through to March 2025. During her time as Executive President, Janine extended CEEC’s outreach and impact globally, refreshing the Board and Advocate network and championing the Global Water Initiative which was formally launched in 2023 at the MetPlant Conference as well as securing a major funding grant to ensure CEEC’s future sustainability.

CEEC warmly welcomes these leaders into our community of Advocates. Their combined expertise and commitment will further enhance our mission to accelerate the adoption of eco-efficient minerals and metals production practices worldwide.
