CEEC International is delighted to announce the appointment of Heather Ednie as its new Executive President, commencing 20 October 2025.

Heather brings more than 30 years of experience in communications, leadership, and industry collaboration, with a career spanning journalism, association management, consulting, and global non-profit leadership. Throughout her career, Heather has been dedicated to enabling collaboration, building strong partnerships, and supporting the mining industry’s transition toward more sustainable, efficient practices. Her leadership has delivered globally adopted guidelines on energy management, comminution efficiency, technology adoption, and other critical topics. She has also supported international initiatives focused on cybersecurity, sustainability, and workforce development.

Heather’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for CEEC International. With her global networks, extensive experience in volunteer-driven organisations, and proven ability to engage stakeholders across industry, government, and research, she will play a pivotal role in advancing CEEC’s mission. Her focus on collaboration, strategic growth, and impact-driven outcomes aligns strongly with CEEC’s 2025–2028 Strategic Plan.

“We are thrilled to welcome Heather to CEEC,” said Marc Allen, Chair quote. “Her experience and leadership will help strengthen our voice, expand our global reach, and ensure we continue to deliver value to industry through innovation in energy, water, and tailings efficiency.”

“I am honoured to join CEEC at such an important moment in its journey,” said Heather Ednie. “The organisation has built a strong reputation for driving collaboration and practical solutions across the industry. I look forward to working with the CEEC Board, team, and our partners worldwide to expand our impact and support innovation that delivers meaningful outcomes for mining and society.”

As Executive President, Heather will work closely with CEEC’s Board, Advocates, sponsors, and collaborators to drive the organisation’s initiatives forward and deliver measurable outcomes for industry. Her appointment underscores CEEC’s commitment to building partnerships, enabling innovation, and supporting a more sustainable future for mining and resources globally.
