CEEC International presents the 2024 CEEC Medal at industry events in Toronto and Adelaide
CEEC International was proud to present the 2024 CEEC Medal across two industry events held in March 2026: the Anglo American Welcome Reception at PDAC in Toronto and MetPlant Conference in Adelaide.
These presentations provided an opportunity to recognise outstanding papers that reflect the innovation, technical excellence and practical thinking needed to accelerate more eco-efficient minerals and metals production.
At the Anglo American Welcome Reception at PDAC, CEEC presented the 2024 Technical Research Medal to Phil Newman, Andrea López Schmidt, Mark Bruton and Auel Kulmagambetova for their paper, Hydraulic Dewatered Stacking – delivering desaturated tailings management without the capital cost of filtration.
A High Commendation in the Operations & Design category was also presented to Sarah Simard, Louis Racine, François Désilets, Guillaume L'Ecuyer, Francois Robichaud, Louis-Philippe Gélinas, Joel Bournival, Derek James Reid and Daniel Roy for their paper, Engineering, Commissioning and Operation of a Stirred Mill in the Arctic Circle.
At MetPlant Conference in Adelaide, CEEC presented the 2024 Operations & Design Medal to two outstanding papers.
The first was awarded to William Futcher, David Seaman and Bern Klein for Redefining the battery limits of processing plants - improving sustainability through the deployment of sensing technologies.
The second was awarded to Campbell Haines, Luke Vollert, William Downie, Isaac Heath and Rami Ghattas for Pioneering Coarse Particle Flotation – Transformative Insights From Five Years of Operation.
A High Commendation in the Technical Research category was also recognised at MetPlant, awarded to Fisher Wang, Erich Dohm, Serhat Onol, Evgeny Zhmarin and Drew Hobert for Transformational Flowsheet: Unlocking Energy and Water Savings.
CEEC congratulates all 2024 Medal recipients and High Commendation recipients on this well-deserved recognition. These papers demonstrate the kind of leadership, applied innovation and technical rigour that can help drive meaningful progress across the minerals sector.
CEEC also thanks Anglo American and MetPlant Conference for supporting the presentation of the 2024 CEEC Medal at these two events.
There is still time to nominate for the next CEEC Medal, with nominations for the 2025 CEEC Medal closing on 31 March 2026.
