Komatsu’s Transform Mining event is bringing together the country’s most innovative thinkers and Komatsu’s highly experienced team to tackle key mining issues.
Start-up owners and entrepreneurs get to pitch their current product or technology and receive honest feedback from Komatsu on how it might integrate with the company’s current and future vision. The focus will be on four challenges:
1. Wireless communications and localisation
2. Real-time ore characterisation
3. Efficient extraction of ore
4. Predictive maintenance.
Komatsu mentors and business experts will provide insights into the company’s current operations and technology gaps. Entrepreneurs get to engage with their mentors over the weekend and further develop their product or technology so that it can address Komatsu’s challenges. The company will provide assistance with business planning and everything entrepreneurs will need to know about preparing for a potential site trial.
Entrepreneurs retain their IP.
At the end of the weekend, a team will win a trip to one of Komatsu’s global sites, and $10,000 is up for grabs.

Saturday 24 February and Sunday 25 February – Entrepreneurs work with Komatsu mentors and business experts to understand the company’s business and the challenges it is facing
Sunday evening – Entrepreneurs pitch how they have tailored their product/technology so that it can help to address Komatsu’s challenges.
