Save the Date: Transforming the Flowsheet for Tailings

Following the success of the Adelaide workshop, CEEC is bringing this to Santiago. CEEC International will host an interactive workshop focused on unlocking strategies for tailings management that are viable, cost-effective and safe, with a focus on improving safety outcomes while reducing water use and environmental footprint.

Tailings management solutions from mineral processing plants generally fall towards one of two bookends: wet thickened tailings, or pressure filtered and dry stacked tailings. However, there are a range of intermediate solutions, along with practical approaches to managing particle size distribution, that can open up a broader set of viable options. This workshop will explore these opportunities for both existing operations and new projects.

Las soluciones para la gestión de relaves provenientes de plantas de procesamiento de minerales suelen ubicarse en uno de dos extremos: relaves espesados húmedos, o relaves filtrados a presión y dispuestos en seco. Sin embargo, existe una serie de soluciones intermedias y enfoques prácticos para el manejo del tamaño de partícula que podrían permitir otras alternativas viables de gestión de relaves.

Este workshop, que se realizará en Santiago en el marco de la conferencia Gecamin Tailings 2026, explorará estas oportunidades desde una perspectiva local con expertos globales, considerando opciones prácticas tanto para operaciones existentes como para proyectos nuevos.
