SUSTAINABLE MINERALS ‘18

CEEC is an industry advocate of Sustainable Minerals ’18.

The sustainable use of the Earth’s natural resources is under threat due to modern society’s extensive use of metals, materials and products. Preserving these resources requires conscious application and use of metals, materials and products, supported by the reuse and recycling of these materials and end-of-life products.

MEI is calling for papers that address sustainable use of our natural resources. Submit your 250-word abstract to Dr Barry Wills This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Sustainable Minerals ‘18 covers all aspects of material and metal usage, including:

  • Clean technology (smelting, energy recovery, hydrometallurgy etc)
  • Process control
  • System and other models for system optimisation and sustainability prediction
  • Carbon emission controls
  • Efforts to reduce energy consumption in mining and mineral processing operations.

Keynote lectures by Adjunct Prof. Rob Dunne (Curtin University and JKMRC) on water stewardship and Prof. Yiannis Pontikes (KU Leuven, Belgium) on the use of Fe-rich residues in the synthesis of inorganic polymers.

Conference details:

  • 14-15 June 2018
  • Windhoek, Namibia
